A collection of book covers I have designed.

The Rooted and the Winged

As this cover is for my own book, I had full creative liberty. The image of the dryad character Esen holding the faerie Fafnir in her hand was a pivotal silhouette that represents the heart of the story. Union of earth and humanity, the big and the small. So I placed them at the center of the cover, and designed a cast of portraits of other major characters to frame them to suggest the epic scale of the story and the adventures Esen and Fafnir have together.

At the Back of the North Wind

As this book is a classical Victorian fairy tale, I sought to create a cover that felt timeless, appealing to both Victorian sensibilities as well as contemporary design. A somber mystery is unveiled at the end of the book. To suggest a feeling of depth and mystery, I designed the dust jacket to be cut through dark archways, revealing glimpses of the cover beneath.

Kamikaze y la Sombra de Aokigahara

I had the pleasure of designing a cover for Gen A.G., an author from Puerto Rico. I designed a cover for her World War II novel based on specific imagery she envisioned.

The Lost Girls of Glinda the Good

After creating the interior illustrations for The Lost Girls of Glinda the Good, I designed the cover as a painted version of the black and white illustrations. For the design, I was inspired by the covers of the classic fairy tale books created in the Golden Age of Illustration.

The Lord of the Rings

The Lord of the Rings is one of my favorite book series. I drew this cover for an imagined complete trilogy edition.
